Our visit to Saffron Walden for morning coffee will allow time to explore the historic centre with its timber framed buildings circa 1500 listed on the Town Trail.  Also of interest is the largest church in Essex, the museum and castle ruins, art gallery and gardens.  There is a busy Saturday Market and numerous cafes, coffee shops and takeaways. Our afternoon visit is to Audley End House, one of the most spectacular Jacobean Mansions in the Country set in a ‘Capability Brown’ parkland.  Working stables, potting shed and kitchen gardens to explore; parterre gardens and extensive park to enjoy.  Light lunch and afternoon tea available in the Servants Hall or bring your own picnic.
