SURREY WALKS CLUB MEETING INFORMATION
Below you will find details about the meeting points and car sharing, plus a guide to the abbreviations found on the monthly programmes.
Meeting Points:
Weekend and Friday evening walks: Meet at Walton-on-Thames Station main car park, Station Avenue.
Thursday Walks: Coronation Recreation Ground free car park, Molesey Road, Hersham (opposite the turning into Molesey Close)
Start of Walk: by prior notice to the walk’s leader in case the start point has to be changed and to register your intention.

Car share to start of the walks:Cars are optionally filled at the meeting point. Walkers without a car will be given a seat. Passengers are expected to contribute towards the cost of fuel by arrangement with the driver.

20 miles round trip £1.60
30 miles round trip £2.40

Walk Grades:
M = Morning WD = Whole Day HD = Half Day A = Afternoon E = Evening Leis = (at a slower pace)
Walks Grades:
G1 = hilly, fairly strenuous
G2 = gentle hills, moderate walking
G3 = mainly flat, easy walking
+ = slightly more strenuous than normal gradeLunch Stops (WD and HD):
It is advisable to carry food and drink as many lunch stops are in the countryside. You may contact the leader beforehand to ascertain if food will be on sale at the stop. Users of an inn’s facilities are asked not to consume their own food and drink on the premises. On a half day walk it is also advisable to have a drink and snack with you for the usual break.

Boots are recommended for all walks.
Please check frequently that the person BEHIND you is in sight, especially at junctions.
When walking on roads, keep to the right except when approaching a right-hand bend.Dogs:
Check with the leader that the walk is suitable. Dogs must be kept under control and not become a nuisance to others. They must be on a lead on roads, enclosed paths and fields with farm animals.
